We have the Mind of Christ
1 Corinthians 2:16
Having the mind of Christ is not a spiritual goal, it is what we have freely received and securely have in Him.
"Now, we have not received the spirit of the world, but rather the Spirit who is from God, that we might KNOW the things freely given to us by God."
1 Corinthians 2:12
The mind of Christ is an opportunity to see the Father as Christ sees Him. To see the good and perfect will of the Father and His loving union with Christ ... and with us. Having the mind of Christ means that Christ is in us ... not for sin-management or religious standards, rather for KNOWING the unspeakable comfort and grace we have been enriched with. He guides in renewing our minds, reconstructing our hearts, and realigning our lives to the very same image, will, and fullness of Himself. A grace without measure and a love at rest!
Whether depression, anxiety, or any other mental health diagnosis or circumstance, this is the reality we have in Christ. We do NOT have a God who demand us to "fight our way out of it." Instead, we have a God who reaches into our depression, anxiety, and etc and would say to us, "Let Me love you and elevate you to a habitation of grace ... where My joy, My love, and My hope is your sufficiency of strength. Watch what I will do."
Grace never ceases to be your ally. That's why we are all the Grace Alliance.
CEO / Co-Founder The Grace Alliance
Mental Health 101 in the Alamo City
In July our CEO/Co-founder, Joe Padilla, conducted a city wide training in San Antonio, Texas for over 40 church and community leaders. The training started brilliantly with a campaign awareness for HIV/AIDS. Then, Joe conducted a 4 hr training to addressing Recognition, Response, Referral, and the Restoration continuum of recovery care.
In this unique training, Joe shares a unique understanding of how mental illness interferes with faith, yet a beautiful way to minister the love, hope, and the grace of Jesus. The reality and testimonies of how mental health recovery is not impossible ... and it works! A training with great education and tools.
One of the sponsors was NAMI San Antonio and here is what the Executive Director, Liza Jensen LCSW, had to say ...
"It was one of the best workshops that I have ever participated in and I was glad that NAMI was involved in the planning and implementation of this training. I know that we planted the seed with the clergy present and have already been contacted to host Signature classes in a few new churches. Locally, we already have several churches that utilized Grace Alliance curriculum in addition to the NAMI programs."
